Carpe diem

fe28b421f22ad207fbbfe4e5edc3a63e.jpgI, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Strange humanity...

The Dalai Lama was asked about what surprises him most in humanity. He answered:

"Men... because they loose their health to accumulate money, then they loose their money to regain health... thinking anxiously about the future, they forget about the present, and in the end they live neither the present nor the future... they live as if they would never die and die as if they have never lived".

PS : I'm not sure about this quote, it came to me with one of those endless emails, I couldn't find the source but I like it just the same.

Alive at whatever age

We carry about with us the burden of what thousands of people have said and the memories of all our misfortunes. To abandon all that totally is to be alone, and the mind that is alone is not only innocent but young – not in time or age, but young, innocent, alive at whatever age – and only such a mind can see that which is truth and that which is not measurable by words.
