Carpe diem
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
Groucho Marx

Discovering the other
Out of the many talks I have with my flatmate, the more interesting are the ones about religion. He's a Muslim, I'm a Christian following the path of Buddha. Many times we share our point of view on our way to follow the path, we share our knowledge of the Scriptures. What is in the Koran, what says the Bible, what the buddha teaches us? I like these talks very much because it's an opportunity to discover another spiritual culture and to have another point of view on the Islam.
Today after a nice talk on God and divinity, while listening to El Fatiha, the opening sourate, we agreed on the beauty of this statement, from the Gospel of St Matthew:
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God.
Amen.

Doubts
Spring is definitely back in Paris, makes me wish to fall in love.
Am I? or just playing back some old movie? or fooling myself? why is it so hard sometimes to know what I really feel? Is it the difficulty that makes the goal more desirable? Is it the urgency that wakes up the desire? Is it because the end is close that I wish it will never come?

Contradictory spirit
Whenever you find that you are on the side of the majority, it is time to reform.

Crying for Jaipur
Around 80 dead people and hundreds wounded after the bomb attacks yesterday night in the crowded market streets of Jaipur. My heart cries for them.

Head under water too!

Tango... finally
Yes, finally, I'm taking tango lessons. For years I've been attracted by these rythms and steps, and last year all spring and summer I have been watching the dancers dancing by the river. The dancing season on the banks of the river Seine will start at the end of May and this year I will join the dance!
I'm not that crazy about these ball dances, but tango is really different. It's all about body communication, attention and alertness, understanding what is coming, step by step, without anticipating, without watching neither the partner's eyes nor feet. The man leads, making it confortable and secure for the woman who follows, not knowing what will come next.
Here is my music of the month, Gotan Project's Santa Maria, for old times' sake, so to speak... When "la revancha del tango" was released in 2001, I could loop-listen to it, days and days in a row. I've seen the group perform twice in Lisbon, the first concert was almost their debut, the second time was very professional, I remember it was such a good moment!
