Free Tibet

In october I had discovered this music and listened to it again and again. The group is Hilight Tribe and the piece is called Free Tibet. Back then I was back from Dharamsala and it had touched me very deep inside. I recalled the mountains, the fierce deodar trees of the Himalayas, the hundreds of Om Mani Padmi Hum mantra recited while walking the kora around the temple. Recent events have put back on the actuality.

Spring

This morning I woke up to have this beautiful surprise!

No, it's not high up in the mountains, it's only 150 km south of Paris. It was so nice to put on boots and go for a walk in the woods, in complete silence except for a few birds, the whisper of the wind in the trees, a block of snow falling from some branch, the sound of our steps in the snow. So beautiful!

Viriya - Effort

May I be energetic, vigorous and perservering

May I strive diligently until I acheive my goal

May I be fearless in facing dangers and courageously surmount all obstacles

Meaningless vs meaningfull?

A traveller meets a man crushing stones by the road, he asks him what he is doing and the other answers angrily: "that's a really stupid job I have! hard and poorly paid!"

The traveller goes on, and a while after he meets another man, also crushing stones and asks him the same question. The other answers: "well, I make a living working in the open air, that's much better than working in an office!"

The traveller continues his journey and meets a third man, also crushing stones. This third man looks so happy! When asked what he is doing, he answers: "Don't you see? I am building a cathedral!"

So... whatever you do, the meaning you give to your own efforts, transforming reality, brings you happiness.

Alive at whatever age

We carry about with us the burden of what thousands of people have said and the memories of all our misfortunes. To abandon all that totally is to be alone, and the mind that is alone is not only innocent but young – not in time or age, but young, innocent, alive at whatever age – and only such a mind can see that which is truth and that which is not measurable by words.
