Changing house

A house is not a home unless it contains food and fire for the mind as well as the body.

Benjamin Franklin

It's funny sometimes to think about what makes a house home. For the last days I have been packing stuff, not that I have that much to pack since I live in a simple room, but still it's strange to see the few things that have been following me over the years: some books, a few rings and jewellery, clothes, official documents like diplomas, a fancy map of the US (what for??), a tiny bottle of the sand I had in my shoes when I left France, small pieces of my favourite blue-coloured glass from Lisbon, plastic boxes from NYC, sweaters I had knitted when in highschool (!!), a yuka survivor from my 1st appartment in Lisbon... Is that what makes a house? or the remains of a past life?
